BOG, GNPC, POLICE, AG’s Dept Appear before Judgment Debt Commission Wednesday

Four Ghanaian state departments and establishments have been
invited to appear before the Commission of Inquiry established by President
John Mahama to inquire into Judgement Debts Payments and other related matters,
at its public sitting on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
A press release signed and issued by the
Commission’s Public Relations Officer, George William Dove gave the names of
the establishments as the Attorney General /
Solicitor General’s, Bank of Ghana (BOG), Ghana
National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and the Ghana Police Service.
According to the Commission, representatives of the
four establishments have been invited to appear before the Commission to assist
it in its work.
It however added that the
representatives “are at liberty to appear at the sitting scheduled for 10am with
their lawyers.
The Commission also asked members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information to first report at the Commission’s office to give their statements, after which the Commission will schedule a date for them to give evidence.
“All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission. All such memoranda will be treated confidentially,” the Commission assured.
