Rotary Club holds breakfast meeting with business leaders

Rotary District 9102, comprising 66 clubs in Ghana, Togo, Benin and Niger, has held a  special breakfast meeting with 100 leading Chief Executive Officers of corporate Ghana.

The Breakfast Meeting, which was held  Tuesday, 20th August 2013 at the Movenpick Hotel Accra, was intended  for District 9102 to interact with business leaders in Ghana on the ideals of Rotary and also as a platform to introduce Rotary’s humanitarian  and sustainable service projects in the District.

Under the leadership of the District Governor, DG Winfred A. Mensah, main speakers for the meeting included Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, President of UT Holdings, Dr. Patrick Awuah, founder of Ashesi University and Past Rotary International Director, Lawyer Sam Okudzeto, who is also a Senior Partner at Sam Okudzeto and Associates.

According to the Chair of the Organising Committee,  Past President Victor Asante , “ the Breakfast Meeting sought to ensure Rotary continues to receive support from corporate Ghana in the pursuit of the ’Service above Self’ motto of Rotary.

The theme for 2013-2014 Rotary Year is , ‘Embrace Rotary, Change Lives’.
Rotary International is the world’s first service organization with more than 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs worldwide.

Club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education, promote peace and eradicate polio.

District 9102 for its part, has 30 Rotary Clubs in Ghana.
